We are loving the excitement over celebrating Christmas and His Birth! This week students completed their own unique snowflake and wrote about the gifts God has given them. See their final products in the picture below!
In Math all grade levels are/were wrapping up a chapter in Big Ideas. We spent time completing Extension and Enrichment problems that took the concepts being learned in their classroom and asked them to dig deeper and apply their understanding. It was amazing to hear the conversations they were having and see them persevere in problem solving! We will continue to work through these types of problems from Big Ideas as a way to connect the classrooms. BRIDGE TO GATE Parents: Important Dates for all GATE applicants
As you know we start off every class with a uniting activity before breathing and praying together for things we are celebrating and sending wish wells to. For the month of December we are using kindness cards to spread cheer to those around us. This week 3rd grade made thank you cards for our specials area teachers who are a blessing to us all everyday.
We also began our snowflake study of seeing ourselves as a beautiful unique snowflake. Each student was given a wonderful gift and talent from God that we want them to see and for others to appreciate and use to expand our learning everyday. They started the work each making a piece of the snowflake that came together to make one big 3D snowflake in our room. We are so blessed to work with all these gifts everyday. Thank you for sharing your students with us. Coming up in December we will be having our Christmas Cookie celebration on Wednesday the 20th. This will also be our last day of GATE before Christmas break. Students will create cards for kids in the hospital as well as participate in cookie activities. We are letting students bring in a cookie decoration if they want (it is optional). If you have any questions about happenings this month do not hesitate to reach out with questions. Have a wonderful weekend! Blessings, Mrs. Nill & Mrs. Fitzgerald After a week apart we had a great week back in GATE! We talked about the highlight of our Thanksgiving week at home (or on vacation) & what we are most looking forward to as we prepare for the birth of Jesus. We will be celebrating Christmas during GATE on Wednesday December 20th. This will be the last day of GATE until we return from break. During our Christmas party we will be making and decorating cards for children that are spending Christmas in the hospital.
