It's His love not luck (classroom bulletin board shown below. Students took some time during connection to write about 3 ways they have seen or shown God's love. We sure loved hearing the conversations being had.

It was a great week & we are so thankful for each day with our students! Blessings on your weekend with family, Mrs. Fitzgerald & Mrs. Nill On Tuesday this week the PTL came into the room to drop off a cupcake for each teacher. As they came in I looked up to say thank you and as I did I had a moment where I looked around to see what we were all doing. I was on the floor with an ELA group learning to read a secret code as part of our language study, another group had a measuring tape out and were investigating using measurement strategies they had been using, and a third group was in a math discussion about possibilities for engineering a car seat. In that moment I was reminded of how blessed I am to work with such creative, different, inspirational minds in these students everyday. We get to spend the time digging into things they love and watch them apply their learning in these ahh-ha moments. Mrs. Fitzgerald and myself LOVE GATE and the students that we get to meet, grow, and learn from every year. We hope they love it as much as we do.
We were busy in all our ELA and MATH investigations this week and took plenty of pictures for you to see. Enjoy your long weekend! Blessings, Mrs. Nill and Mrs. Fitzgerald GATE Field Trip (4th-6th grade): Students do not know this yet, but the field trip that won the vote from the persuasive writing contest summer project was an Escape Room. We have looked at local escape rooms with options for their age group but unfortunately their hours during the school year are nights and weekends. We are going to keep looking but wanted to reach out to see if you know of any places or have been to any that you would recommend. We want to make this happen for them so we appreciate any input!

What feels like the longest month of the year is behind us and a fresh one has begun. Students did a great job in their gen ed classes taking their NWEA this week. That left little time in GATE so we decided to focus on application activities and what we love about being in GATE (February theme).
The student responses were really special. They included:
We truly love watching every student learn and grow and look forward to the second half of this year! BINDERS:
This week in Math:
What a great week celebrating our Lutheran school & the power of connection! Blessings on your weekend, Mrs. Fitzgerald & Mrs. Nill With the holidays quarter 2 has flown by! A lot of this quarter was spent doing rehearsals for the Christmas program, being on break, and celebrating so many wonderful things. Because of this, there is not as much feedback on our progress reports as their normally is. None the less we are still including some sample work so you can see what your student has been up to. Remember to review everything in the front pocket and back pocket of the binders. These papers all STAY at home. The only paper you send back is the signed portion in the front pocket.
If after reviewing your students binder you have questions we are happy to set up a time to meet. These binders will be coming home on Friday, January 26th. We ask that you look over, sign, and return the binder by Monday, January 29th. Academic Binders FYI:
Lastly, if you want to know more about Bridge to GATE, GATE, or the CogAT for the 2024-2025 school year feel free to join us this Sunday at 12:15 in the GATE room. If you are unable to attend please email us a better day and time to meet with you. The application for next year will open this Sunday the 21st. If your student is currently in GATE for grades 3rd-6th you do not need to attend the meeting or reapply. Have a great weekend! Mrs. Nill & Mrs. Fitzgerald We had a great week getting back into a routine! We revisited our GATE goals as well as set set new goals and intentions for the year. Students also completed a 2024 puzzle that challenged them in a good way with problem solving and good conversation. Bridge to GATE parents: Below you will find information regarding Open House & an opportunity to get more information on the application process. Please reach out to us if you have any questions!
